Date Night.....And Jeff making Ranch!

Jeff and I like to do a date night whenever we are BOTH home for the night. With our schedules being completely opposite, that doesn't happen all the time. But, last night we were both home at the same time!!!! For our date we decided to watch our Netflix DVD :"Lars and the Real Girl". Jeff hadn't seen it yet (I saw it a couple of years ago in Boston), and I thought he would love it. And for dinner we decided to make quesadillas and chips with pico de gallo and guacamole. The only thing missing was homemade ranch, which is an absolute must for quesadillas!

So when I got home from the gym (first time in over a month), I asked Jeff to make the dressing. The only problem was our dressing bottles were over at his parent's place from Sunday night dinner (I made Cafe Rio salads, which were a BIG hit!). So our solution? We used a Gatorade bottle! So, I jumped in the shower (because combined with the Oklahoma heat and a workout, it wasn't pretty look or smell), and Jeff started his task......

I'm so glad I married a funny husband. He gives me so much blog material......:) I got out of the shower and went in the kitchen. What did I find? This:

The Gatorade bottle opening (don't worry we washed it out first) was so small that Jeff didn't want to spill the mayonnaise. So his solution? Put the Mayo in a zip lock bag and squeeze it into the bottle. I couldn't stop laughing. And really it was such a smart solution! He's just so funny. Give Mr. Fix It a task and he's up for the challenge!

It was such a fun night. We pulled our mattress into the living room ate our Mexican feast and got to cuddle and watch a movie together. When I heard Jeff's first laugh about 3 minutes into the movie, I knew the night was a success. I'm a sucker for his cute laugh. Seriously. It's so cute. And I love spending the whole night with him!

P.S. The ranch was delicous:)

Missing Boston tonight.

I was reminiscing about Boston tonight with my dear bestie Leah. She reminded me of all the good times we had. Here are some of those things I'm missing tonight.

Midnight runs to Sonic
Trips to the NH Wal*Mart to people watch and shop
Trips to Booth Bay Maine
Trips to the Berkshires. Man do I miss those
Trips to New York City for the weekend or just for the day, because we lived that close
Driving 3 hours to Upstate New York to go to Sonic with my 2 Besties
Trips to Vermont for Thanksgiving
Hooking Ellen on Alias in Vermont, and watching it for 3 days straight
Going to DC for the weekend and getting high on Red Bull....
Buying delicious cheese and hanging out with Leah all afternoon
Antiquing
Going to the beach for picnics
Late late night movies
Bunco
Girl talk after Bunco with my night owl friends
Trips to the 4 corners 7-11 for diet coke with Jen
Taking walks around gorgeous Boston
Taking the T into Boston for the night
Serving in the temple
Attending the temple
Driving through snow storms for late night snacking and talking
Bachelor watching parties
Going to Jen's to watch Real Housewives and talking about how much we hated an ex-boyfriend:)
Ellen's mint brownies
Scary movie nights with Jodi

I miss all those things. But what I miss most is picking up the phone (or texting or emailing), and saying "Hey Ellen/Leah/Jen/Jodi do you want to.....And being able to hop in my car and meet them.
Those almost 4 years I spent were the most special in my life. I know I was guided by my Heavenly Father to move there in the late winter of 2007. To this day it is the best decision I have ever made. And after that decision to move back to Boston the next best decision was to start going to the Arlington Ward and meeting Ellen. She changed my life. .....And I am sure missing that life tonight.
